Hits free agency
Griffith (knee) will reach an injury settlement with the Broncos on Monday, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Analysis: Griffith was waived with an injury designation Tuesday and reverted to IR after going unclaimed. The Indiana State product was working to come back from a torn ACL suffered in August of 2023, but he suffered a setback and will need a second surgery to help repair the injury. It's not yet clear how long it will take to recover this time, but it's unlikely he'll be on the field anytime soon.

Battling for starting job
Griffith, who tore his ACL in August of 2023, has been participating in drills during Denver's training camp and is competing against Cody Barton for the starting inside linebacker job alongside Alex Singleton, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
Analysis: Griffith noted after practice Monday that he was determined to recover from his torn ACL as fast as running back Javonte Williams did last year, per Tomasson. Griffith was able to return to minicamp in June, and the 27-year-old linebacker out of Indiana State is in a battle with Barton for the starting role at inside linebacker. Griffith signed with the Broncos in 2021, and across the first two years of his NFL career, he accumulated 92 tackles (48 solo), one pass defended, one interception and…read more

Back for minicamp
Griffith (knee) was spotted working out on the field during Tuesday's mandatory minicamp session.
Analysis: Griffith missed the entire 2023 campaign due to a knee injury suffered in early August, but he seems to have moved past the issue. Across his four seasons in the professional ranks, the Indiana State product has appeared in 21 games and has recorded 92 total tackles while also intercepting one pass. Now that Griffith is back at full health, he's expected to compete for a depth role in the Broncos' linebacker corps.

Re-signs with Denver
The Broncos re-signed Griffith to a one-year deal Wednesday, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Griffith was slated to be a restricted free agent but is now set to return to Denver for the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old missed the entirety of last season due to a torn ACL but will look to get healthy and be good to go for the start of next season.

Lands on injured reserve
Griffith (knee) was placed on IR on Thursday, Ben Swanson of the Broncos' official site reports.
Analysis: Griffith suffered the injury during a special-teams drill Tuesday when he stepped on another player's foot. Mike Klis of 9News reported the severity of the injury earlier Thursday, so his official move to injured reserve doesn't come as a surprise. In Griffith's absence, the team signed linebacker Austin Ajiake.

Out for season
Griffith suffered a torn ACL during practice Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News reports.
Analysis: Griffith left the practice field early Tuesday, but the severity of the injury was not known at the time. After further testing, it was revealed the 26-year-old suffered a season-ending torn ACL injury, which will require surgery to repair. It's naturally a blow to both the Indiana State product and the Broncos linebacker corps, considering Grifftih was expected to fill a rotational depth role after starting eight games last season. He'll now focus on his recovery and being ready for 2024.

Sits out Wednesday
Griffith (undisclosed) missed the Broncos' practice Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The linebacker left the field during Tuesday's session with the help of trainers. Griffith started eight games and recorded 46 tackles and an interception in 2022. The fourth-year player is slotted into a depth role as Week 1 approaches.

Recovered from injury
Griffith has returned to the field after recovering from an ankle injury, Cody Roark of Mile High Sports reports.
Analysis: Griffith landed on injured reserve in November but is now back on the field for OTAs. The 26-year-old recorded 46 tackles (26 solo) and a sack in nine games last season and should serve as a solid depth option during the 2023 campaign.

Moves to IR
Denver placed Griffith (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Griffith was expected to be out indefinitely with a foot injury, so his move to IR isn't surprising. In his absence, Alex Singleton and Josey Jewell are expected to serve as the Broncos' top inside linebackers against the Raiders on Sunday.

Out indefinitely with foot injury
Griffith suffered a foot injury during Thursday's practice, and he's in line to miss an indefinite amount of time, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
Analysis: The Broncos can't seem to catch a break when it comes to player injuries, as Griffith is now slated to join Baron Browning (hip), Randy Gregory (knee), Christopher Allen (foot) and Aaron Patrick (knee) among the team's injured linebackers. Heading into Sunday's contest versus the Raiders, Alex Singleton and Josey Jewell are in line to serve as the Broncos' top inside linebackers. Double-digit tackles in loss
Griffith recorded 10 tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 32-23 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Griffith finished second on the team in tackles behind Josey Jewell, who notched a game-high 14 stops. Across four appearances, Griffith has 20 stops, and he appears to have seized the starting role over Alex Singleton, who hasn't played a single defensive snap over the last two weeks.

Will be full participant
Griffith (elbow) will be a full participant in practice Thursday, according to head coach Nathanial Hackett, George Stoia III of The Denver Gazette reports.
Analysis: Griffith suffered a dislocated elbow in the team's preseason opener and has been out of action since. His availability Week 1 would be a boost to the Broncos' defense, as the 25-year-old expected to start at inside linebacker.

Set to practice in full Tuesday
Griffith (elbow) is expected to be a full participant during Tuesday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
Analysis: Griffith dislocated his elbow during the team's preseason opener and has remained sidelined since, but there's always been optimism he could return for Week 1. His return to practice is a good sign, but Wednesday's official practice report should give a better indication of his status for the season-opening tilt with Seattle. If available Sunday, the second-year pro is expected to operate as a first-string inside linebacker.

Optimism for Week 1 return
Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said Wednesday that there's a chance Griffith (elbow) is ready for Denver's regular-season opener against Seattle, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Griffith dislocated his elbow during the team's preseason opener against the Cowboys and was expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks. However, based Hackett's comment, it appears he may be able to return at the front end of that estimate. Denver signed Joe Schobert as a contingency plan after Griffith suffered the injury, but the veteran was released Tuesday, which is another good sign Griffith will be back sooner rather than later. Griffith had been operating as a first-string inside…read more

Out 4-to-6 weeks
Griffith (elbow) is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Analysis: Griffith dislocated his elbow during Saturday's preseason opener against the Cowboys and will be sidelined for an extended period. It's possible he returns by Week 1, but Denver will likely need a contingency plan in case he doesn't return until the later end of the initial timetable. Griffith's absence is a big blow to Denver, as he has operated as the team's first-string inside linebacker during much of training camp.

Suffers dislocated elbow
Griffith sustained a dislocated left elbow during the Broncos' preseason opener against the Cowboys on Saturday, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
Analysis: Griffith exited Thursday's exhibition and headed straight to Denver's locker room after sustaining this injury on just the second play from scrimmage. The second-year linebacker out of Indiana State was also seen with his left arm wrapped and in a sling postgame, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. It's unclear just how long Griffith will be sidelined with this injury, but his absence could be a significant loss for Denver, as he has operated as the team's first-string inside linebacker…read more

Out Saturday
Griffith was ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's preseason game against Dallas after suffering an elbow injury.
Analysis: Griffith was seen walking directly to Denver's locker room after injuring his left elbow on the team's second play of the game, though the exact nature of the issue still is unknown, according to Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post. O'Halloran also reports that the 25-year-old was one of two projected defensive starters playing for the Broncos against Seattle, so backups Alex Singleton and Barrington Wade should see increased snaps as a result of his absence.

Operating as starter
Griffith has played nearly every first-string defensive snap during training camp, Ellie Kinney of the Broncos' official site reports.
Analysis: Griffith appeared in 13 games for Denver last season and recorded 46 tackles and a fumble recovery, though he saw a substantial uptick in playing time over the final four weeks of his rookie campaign due to a number of injuries in the Broncos' linebacker corps. The undrafted linebacker out of Indiana State has parlayed that increased playing time into what appears to be a promotion to the starting unit during training camp. If he maintains his strong play, he'll likely crack fantasy relevancy…read more

Analysis: Griffith appeared in 13 games for Denver last season and recorded 46 tackles (22 solo) and a fumble recovery. The undrafted linebacker out of Indiana State saw an uptick in playing time over the final four weeks of his rookie campaign due to a number of injuries in the Broncos' linebacking corps, but it could signal a bigger role to start 2022.
